Compartment

In the future when I have money and need a storage unit I will buy this RAKKE Ikea wardrobe for $349. I'll paint all the doors different colors and in the end it will resemble an abrstract painting. Its just so simple and clean. One day....

Craft Corner

My nook is finally complete! I have wanted a little space to make things ever sense we moved in. As I type I am cozy at my little desk surrounded by my craft stuff. I just repainted the desk white and spray painted the handle silver. I also put my small ironing board on a table pedestal I found on the sidewalk. It's all quite cute if i do say so myself.

Another Green Chair

I think I've gone a little green crazy. I found this chair by the side of the road and thought it would make a good upholstery project. plus be a good chair for my craft nook. So i unscrewed the cushions and using a staple gun and some fabric from joAnn's I reupholstered the seat and the backrest. then I spray painted the frame silver, which turned out to be very metalic. then put it all back together and I realized I have make another green chair.

Heaven is a Place on Earth!

I've come home! This weekend I was looking for a desk for my long awaited craft nook. And i stumbled upon the Holyoke Flea Market. Its Huge! Imagine a very large warehouse stuffed with about 500 vender's selling literally everything. It was wonderful! I've been looking for a good flea market since we moved out here and I have finally found one. I was also successful in finding a desk for only $30. I think I could have paid $20 but i'm a horrible haggler. the guy realized this and i think he felt a little bad so he threw in a free chair (which I don't want or need but it was nice anyway). The desk needs a coat of paint and is a little beat up but its perfect.

Sorry the picture is a little out of focus.

Chair gone wrong...

Well I tried some random/cheap spray paint on my chair but of course it didn't adhere to the plastic.... it basically just dripped off. but while i was at the hardware store i saw a spray paint line dedicated to plastic surfaces. so i'll have to go back and try it again. I've been in florida over the weekend plus the fact that i've been really lazy so hopefully i'll get the project done by next week.

Chair Makeover

I found these two chairs by the side of the road and I am all
about free stuff. The plastic was discolored by mildew and white paint had some how been splatted on both chairs. There was also some rust on the metal frame, but nothing some 4o9 and steel wool can't fix.

At first I tried to remove the stains and paint from the plastic parts of the chair. I used soap and water, paint thinner, and this very toxic product called Goo-Gone. None got the job done. So instead of investing my cash in more toxic solvents I've decided to just spray paint the plastic. I tried to unscrew the backrest and the seat to make painting easier, but because of the structure of the chair it was impossible. So i just used painters masking tape and over zealously taped the metal frame so that no metal was exposed.

I think I'll pick a mustard/yellowish/greenish color....
